Music
There are opportunities for ringing or singing in most of Zion's choirs. Joining a choir provides a way to serve our church, enjoy fellowship with members and worship our Lord. Experience is not necessary; training is provided. Below is a description of each choir:
Elementary Handbell and Vocal Choir "Junior Ringers/Singers"
Open to children 3 years through 6th grade. Rehearsals are on Sunday morning beginning at 9:15 prior to Sunday School and during the Children's worship during the 10:30 a.m. service. The choir sings or rings during worship once a month
Intermediate Handbell Choir "Bells of Praise"
Open to anyone in grades 7 to adults. Music does not have many bell changes or complicated rhythms. A wide variety of ringing techniques and musical concepts are taught. Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The choir rings during worship once a month.
Advanced Handbell Choir "Reformation Ringers"
Open to experienced ringers in grades 7 to adults. Ringers rehearse on Monday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The choir rings during worship once a month.
Adult Vocal Choir "Chancel Choir"
Open to those in grades 9 through age 99. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 7:30 pm to 9 pm. The choir sings during most 10:30 am worship services.
